Abstract

This study responds to the claims that the term ἄφεσις (usually translated “forgiveness”) should be understood in light of the biblical Jubilee. The study commences with a brief survey of the word’s use in the Septuagint and Classical Greek literature, alongwith the related verb ἀφίημι. It then examines each use of ἄφεσις in the New Testament. Texts in Matthew, Mark, Luke-Acts, Paul’s writings and Hebrews are examined, with a particular focus on Lucan texts (since these contain the majority of the occurrences of the word). The study concludes that the verb ἀφίημι was never explicitly connected to the Jubilee in the Septuagint, so there is no reason to view the word in this light in the New Testament. The study also concludes that even though the term ἄφεσις had Jubilee connotations at the time the Septuagint was written, there was significant semantic development such that by the time of the New Testament, the word had a distinct and unambiguous meaning, centred on the forgiveness of sins and unrelated to the Jubilee.

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the theological review of worship for the implementation of God’s mission. The method used is descriptive qualitative with literature review. The conclusion is that worship is worshiping the Lord God as well as testing missionary actions of the church members. Worship moves God's people to experience an encounter with God, and His will. The response of God's people is to carry out God's mission for the world. Integrity of worship is knowing God's will for His mission in the world through the church, and believers.

Abstract

Tujuan penulisan ini ialah untuk mengkaji metode pembelajaran melalui film Superbook dan minat belajar firman Tuhan pada anak usia 6-8 tahun. Metode yang dipakai ialah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan studi kepustakaan dan penelitian lapangan berupa observasi dan wawancara kepada anak usia 6-8 tahun. Kriteria anak yang berminat jika anak senang untuk belajar, tertarik untuk belajar, terlibat aktif di dalam pelajaran maupun memberikan perhatian saat proses pembelajaran dengan tetap berkonsentrasi. Hasil observasi menunjukkan minat belajar firman Tuhan pada anak usia 6-8 tahun untuk belajar nilai-nilai Alkitab, dan dapat bertumbuh di dalam Tuhan melalui media film.

Abstract

This article proposes a curriculum framework of character based Christian religious education in higher learning institutions. To make it happen, the concept of character education according to the Christian faith is explained, character education in universities is disclosed, and the Christian religious education curriculum framework is described. Then, the author proposes a Christian religious education curriculum framework based on character education.

Abstract

The problem with churches today is the reduced interest of young people in the church activities. The church needs to evaluate the youth ministry that have been doing, so the church be able to see the effectiveness of each activity they did to reach young people. The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of youth-based contextual services to the growth of Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia in Samarinda City. To achieve this, the author uses the method of multiple linear analysis to see the effect of contextual youth services on church growth. After conducting research, it was found that there was a significant influence between contextual youth services on the growth of the quantity of the Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia in Samarinda City. Contextual based youth ministry is an answer that needs to be considered so the church can provide services that are relevant to the lives of modern young people who live in their particular culture. On other side, contextual based youth ministry to help church services be effective for reaching the millennial generation.

Abstract

Kitab Kisah Rasul Yohanes merupakan koleksi cerita-cerita dan tradisi-tradisi Yohanes yang berasal dari awal abad ke-2, yang sejak lama diketahui dalam bentuk fragmentaris. Dokumen ini menggambarkan tentang suatu malam sebelum penyaliban-Nya, Yesus memerintahkan murid-murid untuk membentuk sebuah lingkaran mengelilingi-Nya dan untuk menari selama Dia menyanyikan sebuah himne serta untuk memberikan respon terhadap nyanyian itu dengan pernyataan “Amin.” Kisah ini membuat kitab Kisah Rasul Yohanes menjadi sebuah dokumen yang sangat penting untuk mengetahui visi dan dasar-dasar Gnostik dalam tradisi Yohanes. Publikasi penting pada manuskrip Koptik yang berasal dari abad ke-10 yang disebut dengan Kodeks Qasr el-Wizz dari sebuah biara di Nubia memperlihatkan sebuah tarian yang mirip dengan yang digambarkan dalam kitab Kisah Rasul Yohanes. Keberadaan adegan tarian pada Kodeks Qasr el-Wizz memberikan kesan, bahwa ritus tarian terus dilestarikan pada jemaat Kristen Ortodoks dari awal abad ke-2 sampai ke-10.

Abstract

This paper aims to develop a product-based training model to improve the performance of research, and publication of scientific work. This research was carried out with R & D covering two stages. In the preliminary study phase, a literature review and field survey were conducted on the training models used so far. At the development stage, drafting the model, validation carried out expertand limited field testing were. Data analysis techniques using thedifferent test techniques Mann-Whitney U test. The R & D results show findings: 1) the training model is carried out through analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation; 2) the validity level of the model is in the good category; and 3) the products produced by lecturers, namely the results of research and publication are higher than before using the model.
